President Barak Obama, will be the commencement speaker for the Rutgers University graduation. The university will be presenting him with an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. This particular ceremony is especially important because it will mark the 250th anniversary of Rutgers University founded in 1766.

The commencement will be held on Sunday, May 15 at 12:30 p.m. in High Point Solutions Stadium at Rutgers University – New Brunswick on the Busch Campus in Piscataway, NJ. To attend the ceremony all students and their guests must have a barcoded ticket along with a valid photo ID.  All attendees will undergo a security check before stadium entry.

This is a highly anticipated event with the expectation of over 40,000 peopled arriving on the New Brunswick campuses. Parking on campus will be challenging, so get there early and be prepared to display your commencement parking hashtag. If you will be attending events on days other than May 15, you do not need a parking hashtag.

There will be viewing alternatives for friends and family without a ticket. A live streaming webcast of the University Commencement will be available at 12:30 P.M. on May 15. A high-speed internet connection, such as cable or fiber-optic network is recommended to watch the event.

Student centers at the Piscataway and New Brunswick locations will allow guests to enjoy a live stream of the University commencement and the School of Arts and Sciences Convocation in the comforting of air conditioning and cushioned seats. The ceremony viewing will be in rooms in the Busch Student Center, Livingston Student Center, or College Avenue Student Center. Seating will be general admission and tickets will not be required.

The Louis Brown Athletic Center will be also be showing a live stream for School of Engineering Students and their guests only. Tickets are required for all students entering the Athletic Center for viewing and can be picked up in room B100. The Louis Brown Athletic Center will open at 11 a.m. on May 15, and is located on Livingston Campus.

For Rutgers University students at the Camden location streaming of the commencement ceremony will be in the Multi -Purpose room of the Campus Center for students who cannot attend. In addition, students who attend the Newark Location may watch via live stream in the Essex Room of the Paul Robeson Campus Center.
